Microneedling
Most popularly known as an anti-aging skin treatment, microneedling is also a treatment for thinning hair, alopecia and hereditary hair loss. Unlike other treatments that target your skin’s surface, microneedling treatment causes small "micro-injuries" into the middle layer of the skin, where the most help is needed. As these micro-injuries heal, your skin produces more collagen and hair fibers. It also helps to strengthen the hair follicles, creating a double benefit of growing new, longer and stronger hair.
The treatment itself, performed by Dr. Jain, usually takes typically 4 sessions to stimulate hair growth. She often recommends microneedling in conjunction with platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatment. Dr. Jain recommends microneedling with PRF treatment every 4-6 weeks for four sessions and then twice a year for maintenance.
